Your Time Can Make a Difference

As a non-profit organization, we rely on the kindness and generosity of people like you to help make our facility a truly loving and comforting place.

Volunteers are crucial to the success of the Humane Society of the North Bay. They make a big impact when it comes to improving the lives of the animals entrusted to our care. Our volunteers handle duties such as pet grooming, animal care, cleaning, office work, special events , handy work, as well as fostering pets in their own homes.

If you have the extra time and would like to make a difference by reaching out to these needy animals, please consider becoming a Humane Society of the North Bay volunteer. We have several opportunities available for you to explore. Whether you have an hour or two a week, want to spend several days helping out, or have a service project to complete, we have something for you! To apply, click here.

We expect all Volunteers to conduct themselves in a polite and professional manner and to enjoy themselves. There is no mandatory amount of time required for volunteering per week. We do ask for at least a six-month commitment. We appreciate you volunteering your time. Please remember, the animals rely on your commitment to volunteering. There are many volunteer opportunities for you to enjoy and we need help with everything from direct animal care, office work to fundraising, off site adoptions, work in our thrift store and more.

Please bring your finished & signed Volunteer Interest Form with you the day of orientation. Please wear clothes that can get dirty and wear closed-toed shoes each time you volunteer. No fashion show here. The animals love us no matter what we wear!
