Your Time can Make a Difference

As a non-profit organization, we rely on the kindness and generosity of people like you to help make our facility a truly loving and comforting place.

Volunteers are crucial to the success of the Benicia Vallejo Humane Society. They make a big impact when it comes to improving the lives of the animals we care for as well as helping to defray the costs of full-time staffers. Our volunteers handle duties such as pet grooming, animal care, cleaning, office work, special events , handy work, as well as fostering pets in their own homes.

If you have the extra time and would like to make a difference by reaching out to these needy animals, please consider becoming a Benicia Vallejo Humane volunteer. We have several opportunities available for you to explore. Whether you have an hour or two a week, want to spend several days helping out, or have a service project to complete, we have something for you!

Requirements

Volunteers 13 years old and younger are able to volunteer with a parent or guardian by their side when working with the animals.  The parent/guardian is required to handle the dogs/cats from the kennel and must assist their child with the socialization of the animal.

We are flexible with the amount of time one has to offer to socialize the animals or work on projects, because it takes only a few minutes to walk a dog or socialize a cat. Other areas of volunteering may require more time depending on how much your schedule will allow you to get involved. We need people who care enough to give of their time to make a difference for the animals.
